Just installed it. So far -- love it!
I've installed squiggle 3.3 on two machines, identical operating systems and the same squiggle. In the settings tab, one machine has an option for "remember me" after "Automatically Sign Me In" and the other machine that option does not appear at all. whats up? And what does it mean? And why did it show up on one machine and not the other? Both machines only have one user acct. TIA.

New Post: Anyone got Squiggle Bridge to work on WAN?

I was excited when I saw the documentation that says Bridge for connecting two LANs across subnets or WAN. I believe it is not possible over WAN, that is two subnets separated behind two separate routers, without a tunnel. Has anyone ever got this to work this way? I think you must be able to ping the other nodes, which is impossible if the other node is behind a NAT router. Anyone got any help here?

Me too. Problem trying to connect two subnets behind two NAT routers. I think possibly it could work with a tunneled connection, or perhaps it would work if you had a PC based gateway...maybe.

The first comment and the instructions have all of the necessary information for connecting 2 or more different subnets. However, the Windows service "SquiggleBridge" is not started automatically from the installation using "Squiggle.Bridge -i". You need to go into your Windows services and start it on each computer that you made a node in each subnet. It is set to start automatically in the settings, but that is only upon a restart of your computer. I hope this helps!

Our office has been trialing out Squiggle as a replacement chat/notification program.

What I would love to see:
Notifications
1) Sound/visual notification on new chat, reply within chat,
2) Ability to customize notification methods, ie: length of time of visual notification, type of notification

I am familiar with computers but when it comes to source code and changing configuration I am not familiar with doing those changes, is there any way to have someone make some custom scripts for our office??

I have noticed that the only time squiggle sends a sound notification or visual pop up - is if the chat window is minimized or is a new chat/BC message. It will also turn orange to signal a "new" chat message, however if someone replies within a current chat (when minimized, there is no notification of a reply)

Is there any way to change the notifications of messages? (aside from steal focus on new message, which is nice but then it interrupts whatever your doing, as well when this is selected you no longer receive a sound notification which comes in handy with busy environments)

Our previous chat/notification program used to make a sound ever time we received a message (regardless of if it was new or a reply)

I do find the popup notification on the right hand side of the screen handy, it would be nice if this would pop up all the time on a new message/reply etc. and be able to customize the settings for how long it remains visible.

Downloaded 3.4 Client on two computers as a test of capabilities.

Messaging works perfectly fine, but the file transfer button is greyed out.
Comments: Did you make sure to unlock on both of the computers? Just done on our network of 15 computers, worked for all 15 :)

i have some problems

just one i do test so i connected other computer
but warning problems, main computer used transfer file but other computer not used transfer.

other computer display this string "You have received invitation for file transfer but your client does not support it."

i dont understand this message.

i was download squiggle-3.4 same together

and 2. settings - connection - Presence Address
we have used Message PoP || , this is lan massanger
and we have used five IP address for Connection
192.168.20.255, 192.168.1.255, 192.168.2.255, 192.168.11.255, 192.168.12.255, 192.168.31.255
i wanna five ip address connection and exploit Squiggle messanger
if i used one of five address, not connection
but
i setting 224.10.11.12 and then correct connect
why?
if i connect five address , how do?

Right click the voicechat dll in plugins folder. Open the properties dialog and unblock the dlls. Then restart Squiggle.

Hello I want to develop using squiggle.

I am currently a messenger POP | Use a program called regional network to connect and to use LAN Messenger

This time, try replacing your squiggle.

What data does squiggle IM client send through the presence server? Does the chat get sent there/logged? Looking to use Squiggle on our LAN but security concerns about what passes though the presence server? Can we download/establish our own presence server on the LAN?

Squiggle is a server-less LAN client. There is no home to send data to. Presence server is a multicast address.
